What is Technical Writing?

Technical Writing is a method of communicating technical information to non technical people to help them do something. Often, documentation is developed without a careful analysis of why it is needed. Successful documentation must have a set objective within a realistic budget.

There is much more to Technical Writing than meets the eye. An important step is that of identifying an audience - the average person who will use the documentation based on certain assumptions about his background and experience. Documentation is generally an overlap of reference, explanation or instruction.

It is worthless if it does not bring with it some distinct ongoing advantages, such as:

&    Reduced support calls to your helpdesk.

&    Effective usability and implementation of new projects.

&    Better training of new staff in high turnover situations.

&    Better acceptance of change, when well communicated

These benefits are only a few of a lot more. The better the documentation higher the chances of a completely happy and satisfied customer and “free” helpdesk.

In the highly technical surroundings of today, two otherwise innocent sounding letters of the English Alphabet, I and T, when put together probably form one of the most powerful words around – IT. “User Friendliness” and “Customer Satisfaction” seem to be the order of the day. We would like to help you achieve just that through Excellence In Writing.
