Certificate Course in Technical Writing
Training the Communicators of Technology
In the highly technical world of today, two otherwise innocent sounding letters of the English Alphabet, I and T, when put together probably form one of the most powerful words around – IT. “User Friendliness” and “Customer Satisfaction” are the order of the day and much of those two are achieved through effective communication.
Why Software Documentation?
Software Documentation (Technical Writing), though a relatively new field, is fast evolving into a promising and extremely lucrative career option. As global IT companies expand and continue to outsource software documentation with other development activities to India, good writers continue to be in extreme short supply compared to the openings throughout the Indian IT hubs.
You don't have to be a technical writer or have a large Technical Publications department in your organization to benefit from my workshops. My workshops - designed for a wide range of audiences - show you how to better structure your documents for maximum clarity, how to give your documents a more professional look and make them more understandable and readable for your target audience. You learn to write with clarity and grace.
The highlights of the workshop are the extensive real-life examples and exercises that give you loads of creative ideas on effective communication.
Target Audience: Here are a few profiles that have found my workshops very useful:
- Beginners wanting to jump into this field for the first time.
- Advanced Writers who wish to provide their practical experience with some solid and proven theory.
- Translators who need to understand several things covered in this workshop to decide the best way to capture in the target language what is really being said in the source language.
- Project Managers and anyone who writes, communicates and needs a sound practical knowledge of Microsoft Word.
- Marketing/Communication and Business Development Executives will always find it useful to understand the target audience to prepare the marketing collateral and brochures.
!! Effective communication is not just for the writers !!
